Four natural Burmese red spinels totaling 1.62 ct, arranged in graduated sizes.

Vivid Burmese Red Spinel Suite - Burma - 1.62ct (Total)

A graduated suite of four natural Burmese red spinels, collectively weighing 1.62 carats and ranging from approximately 3.7 × 3.5 mm to 4.7 × 4.5 mm. Each stone is fashioned as a softly rounded cushion modified brilliant, creating a coherent visual progression across the suite.

The stones display a vivid red body color with subtle raspberry and pinkish-red modifiers. Their saturated coloration gives the suite an energetic crimson character, while the singly refractive nature of spinel allows the body color to present without the directional color effects associated with pleochroic gemstones.

Three of the four stones are notably clean to the unaided eye, with only minor internal characteristics visible under magnification. The largest stone differs substantially, displaying prominent internal silk-like veils and micro-fracturing that produce a softer, slightly sleepier appearance. This natural variation gives the suite an interesting internal hierarchy while also placing a meaningful limitation on its overall valuation.

As a matched graduated group, the stones are particularly suited to architectural jewelry applications in which scale and repetition are part of the design language. Used individually, the smaller stones could also serve as accent stones surrounding a larger central gemstone.
