The plaque exhibits a naturally divided lavender-and-green color composition characteristic of the Chinese jadeite collecting concept known as Chun Dai Cai or “Spring Over Green.”

The upper section carries a soft lavender-violet tone, while the center and lower field develop into a much more saturated apple green. The strong color separation is particularly effective in a carved plaque because the artist has been able to incorporate the natural zoning into the composition rather than attempting to conceal it.

The green is visually more prominent and saturated than the lavender, giving the plaque a strong face-up presence while retaining the distinctive two-color character that makes this material collectible.

The material presents a fine-to-medium granular texture with a waxy to fine “sticky-rice” character, approaching the more translucent end of that category in portions of the plaque.

Directional illumination reveals a degree of internal light transmission, although the material does not approach the highly translucent, glassy appearance associated with top-grade imperial-type jadeite.

Its polished surfaces exhibit a smooth, subdued luster characteristic of well-finished jadeite.

The carving incorporates several traditional auspicious motifs.

The front combines Ruyi forms with flowing Xiangyun cloud ribbons, representing auspiciousness and favorable fortune. An ancient coin motif introduces an association with wealth and prosperity, while the additional figure or creature provides another layer of traditional symbolic interpretation.

The reverse transitions into architectural and landscape imagery, including pavilion-like masonry, mountain forms, and clouds.

Rather than treating the color division as an obstacle, the carving uses it as part of the visual structure: the lavender and green zones become compositional fields within the plaque.

The plaque is represented as Type A jadeite, meaning the material is claimed to have received no chemical bleaching, polymer impregnation, or dye treatment.

Type A status is particularly important in jadeite because treated B- and C-jade can differ dramatically in both market value and long-term stability.

The plaque's substantial toughness makes jadeite highly suitable for carved objects and pendants. However, thin relief elements and projecting carved details remain vulnerable to concentrated impact. Harsh acids, aggressive pickle solutions, and extreme heat should be avoided.

Because the current documentation is an inventory record rather than an independent laboratory report, Type A status should be considered represented rather than independently certified.

The material is represented as originating from Kachin State, Myanmar (Burma), the world's historically dominant source of fine gem-quality jadeite.

Myanmar jadeite is particularly valued in the Chinese and East Asian collecting traditions, where color combinations, translucency, texture, carving quality, and symbolic motifs all contribute to desirability.

The combination of Burmese provenance, natural Type A status, and the distinctive lavender-and-green color zoning gives this plaque a recognizable place within the broader jadeite collecting tradition.

This plaque is best appreciated as a carved jadeite object rather than simply a large piece of colored gemstone material.

Its principal attractions are the substantial 131.05-carat equivalent weight, natural two-color zoning, traditional auspicious iconography, and the way the carving deliberately incorporates the underlying color distribution.

The piece is particularly suited to collectors interested in Chinese-inspired jadeite carving, natural color zoning, traditional symbolism, or architectural and sculptural gemstone objects.

The lavender component prevents the piece from competing directly with fine imperial-green jadeite, but the combination of lavender and saturated apple green gives it a distinctive identity of its own.

Independent gemological laboratory verification of jadeite identity, Type A treatment status, and geographic origin may be arranged upon request.

For a piece of this nature, laboratory confirmation of natural jadeite and no evidence of polymer impregnation, bleaching, or dye would materially strengthen its marketability and provenance.

Every stone offered by the House is selected for more than nominal rarity. Color, proportion, clarity, cutting, material integrity, and the way a gemstone responds to light are considered together.

At Dante Bianco, a gemstone is not simply a measure of carat weight or a line on an inventory sheet. It is a material with its own optical character, physical structure, and potential within a considered design. Each stone is chosen for the qualities that make it worthy of attention—and for the possibilities it presents to the collector who recognizes them.
