Lavender Sapphire - Sri Lanka - 2.15ct

A 2.15-carat radiant-cut sapphire from Sri Lanka, distinguished by its soft lavender body color and delicate blue-violet cast.

The stone occupies a quieter register of sapphire color, favoring subtlety over saturation. Pale lavender tones meet cool blue-violet reflections across the crown, creating a restrained interplay of color and light. Its internal brilliance gives the stone a clean, luminous character, while the radiant cut introduces structure through its clipped corners, geometric outline, and brilliant-style facet arrangement.

At 8.5 × 5.7 mm, the elongated rectangular form provides a balanced face-up presence. The cut brings together the architectural geometry of a step-cut outline with the light return of brilliant faceting, allowing the stone's pastel coloration to remain the principal feature rather than being overwhelmed by depth or darkness.

Represented as unheated, this sapphire retains its naturally occurring color without heat enhancement. Its Sri Lankan origin connects it to one of the world's historically significant sapphire-producing regions, long associated with a diverse range of blue, violet, and pastel-colored corundum.

A study in restraint and proportion, this is a sapphire whose appeal lies in the relationship between delicate color, geometric form, and light.
